Non-EBT Product Drive
Our group decided to go with a product drive to raise awareness for the community fridge as well as just when thinking in terms some of the immediate goals of the fridge, which include being in stock, cleanliness, good quality, etc.
We tabled on campus to raise money and food for the community fridge. First we needed to: make flyers and allocate time slots for volunteering. Most donations came in the form of cash and Venmo payments. Raised 80 dollars which was sent to the South End Community Fridge account. The reason for our group choosing to go with a Non-EBT drive is because you can't get these items with Snap Benefits. EBT, is an electronic system that allows a supplemental nutrition assistance program (SNAP) participant to pay for food using SNAP benefits. You CANNOT use SNAP benefits to buy:
